So...I'm late again, more or less. But less late! Maybe I'll just keep getting better, yaaaay. In any event, here's my jam 3 contribution! The idea was to do a picture based on the word "imprecation", which was defined as:
1. The act of imprecating, or invoking evil upon someone.
2. A curse.
So here we are. Some girl casting a curse, or if I wanted to get both definitions in one casting a curse to undo a curse or something equally convoluted. I was HEAVILY inspired (read - used as a direct reference for the background) by this picture - [link] , from CLAMP's xxxHolic (which is very good, and everyone should go read, and then start reading Reservoir Chronicles too).
Anywho, pretty happy with the result...like the lines, and the smoke was fun to draw. Oh, no idea what the thing in her hand is...maybe some sort of defunct lamp/bell...or unlit incense burner...whooo knows.
On a side note...would people want to see any of my drawings as prints?? Oh, and, I made some products for fun over here - [link] I've gotta say, the stickers and postcards are especially high quality...and the keychains/buttons/magnets are pretty darn cute too, so if you feel a buying urge...and while we're on the subject...COMMISSION ME YAY! OOO this looks sooo awesome haha yes you are less late, and with the extension it should be even better ! Omg this is awesome as usual!! I looooove the composition and the way you used the smoke to frame the picture. The textures are great too with the verticle and then horixontal stripes, you make flats look awesome !! I've never read/seen xxxholic but I have seen some of Tsubasa and the characters show up in it XD! BTW the girl figure is cuuute, I like her pleated skirt and her haircut!!
haha yesss, perhaps with the extension I'll be just right thanks so much! I can't claim credit for the smoke, since that was inspired by the xxxHolic picture, but it WAS fun to draw! I'm glad you like the stripes, I wasn't sure about them at frist, but I like them now too Haha yeah, it's fun, the two manga overlap with each other occasionally...originally I was going to make the girl blond, but black hair balanced the picture better, so there we go! anyway, glad you like it, and thanks for the

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 10 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.

The color scheme is nice and you did a great job with the stylistic smoke.
