Okay! This is my entry for 
's Art Exchange #5 contest, and it's suppooosed to be of 
's character, Jade, who plays the keyboard in this band (thus the attempt at a keyboard next to him, and the tiny little writing on his shirt collar saying "Jade"). But the thing is, he doesn't reaaallly look like this at all, 'cause see, I put his hair up and gave him different clothes. But! I kept the chain things and big collar! *fervently hopes this is redeeming*
This took a super long time, like 5 hours or something, mostly in photoshop (the sketch/ink came to me in a flash of inspiration), 'cause of all the background stuff which still isn't very good, especially the water which is just shitty. But I'm done! Oh, oh, and my music while doing this was the Amelie soundtrack - it's beaaaaaautiful.

I ADORE the sky in the background.....it is amazing. I suck at backgrounds, which explains why I rarely draw them. I also like the coloring and the shading on the face. And the water is not bad at all. The only problems I see are that I dont know where the light source is, because it's intense on the face but very shallow everywhere else, and the anatomy, as it seems the right limbs (from his point of view) are longer than the left lings. I must sayI like the decorative shading on the face, though maybe his left eye looks obviously pixelated in the border between it and the left cheek. Although the hair shading is unrealistic, I like it a lot and it works for the picture and I hope you win the contest....if you havent already done so.
